The OM-VIB-101 is ideal for assessing the health and diagnosing performance problems of rotating machinery. Slight changes in the axial accelerations of a motor over time can reveal whether a motor is running efficiently and even indicate whether it may fail in the future. The OM-VIB-101 uses three components to collect and present vibration data:

1) Memory stick-sized USB data logger containing three precision accelerometers
2) Pedestal for mounting the data logger on an operating piece of equipment
3) Powerful Windows®-compatible graphics application. Once the logger has been dismounted, plugging it into a computer’s USB port automatically imports hours of vibration, motion and tilt data to the application.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Lots of issues The items works only when connected to a pc via usb The twchnical stuff has been promising me a new set of instructions and i am still waiting So far very bad review from my side Regarda

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Horrible! Spent a lot of time trying to get this thing to work. It would not work for more than a few minutes. Had a online chat with the service department resulting in my returning the unit. Service Dept. testing the unit for a short while, while connected to the computer and had no problem. For this application, the unit will be attached to the equipment. Note, I have several Omega temperature/humidity data loggers, which we have used successfully for several years.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Too light to be a paperweight This product is horrible. It does not do half of what is advertised (example is to set alerts). It is not very sensitive and doesn't communicate with computer half the time. You have to use a screwdriver remove the battery and reassemble in order to get communication back. All of the error messages in the software were clearly translated from another language as the translation is broken. Bottom line is I would highly recommend not purchasing.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Interface, Software and Instructions need work It took 2 weeks to get it working at all on a time available basis. Omega had a non-windows 10 compatible version posted on the web at first. Very few newer laptops have a CD drive so the download verison is important. I can not get the unit to start recording with a button so I have to use the software to schdule a start time. The software is sloppy, spell check was obviously not used (Device is not spelled Deveice). Download is very slow, a full logger takes several minute to download. Memory is limited. For vibration I want to have a resolution that will give full amplitude and frequency which requires roughtly 10x the record rate of the vibrational frequency. At 250 ms i can only record 1 day. at 50 ms only a few hours. The instruction manual is not very helpful. I can not get the unit to record with zero as the centerline value even though I have "calibrated" it muliple times.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Almost Perfect Used the device several times since I purchased it had to learn the hard way that if you set in the parameters to start logging at a certain time but accidentally press the button before the timer and you get nothing unless you hook it back up to your computer. There should be an option when you set the parameters to disable the button.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from still a little large Still a little too bulky for our operation. I'd like to see it in a more basic form with out the casing.

I have the Shock V2.3 software installed on my laptop and I am able to connect to the logger successfully and set up parameters. When I record I get a blinking light as per the set parameter, but when I download data, there are no samples or readings.

The green-red lights are flashing indicating that the data storage is full. How do I clear all of the data from the unit or default to startup. Everything was working fine, and then it stopped collecting data. Download indicates "No Data in Device".

What is the maximum hours of data collection you can get from the device? Can the sampling rate be adjusted to extend the time range the device can collect data? Need to do a vibration effects study by placing the device inside the shipping crate.

We need to monitor a piece of tooling for movement in 2 axis with displacement of about 1 mm over a period of about 5 seconds. Will this device accurately detect this type of movement?

Thank you for your question. The logger measures in G-forces so you have to determine if this is suitable for your application. SPECIFICATIONS Acceleration Measurement Range: -16g to 16g Acceleration Accuracy: ±0.5g Acceleration Resolution: 0.0039
