Description
The OM-CP-OCTTEMP-A is an 8-channel, battery-powered, stand-alone, thermocouple-based temperature data logger. The OM-CP-OCTTEMP2000 is the same 8-channel thermocouple data logger but with an LCD display. The OM-CP-OCTTEMP2000 features on screen minimum, maximum and average statistics, as well as a user configurable graphics screen that allows for any combination of channels to be displayed.
These all-in-one compact, portable, easy to use devices will measure and record up to 500,000 temperature measurements per channel (channels can be disabled to increase memory). The OM-CP-OCTTEMP-A and OM-CP-OCTEMP2000 are a major leap forward in both size and performance. The real-time clock ensures that all data is time and date stamped. The storage medium is non-volatile solid state memory, providing maximum data security even if the battery becomes discharged.
The data logger’s small size allows it to fit almost anywhere. Data retrieval is simple. Plug it into an available COM port and our easy-to-use Windows software does the rest. The software converts your PC into a real-time strip chart recorder. Data can be printed in graphical or tabular format and can be exported to a text or Microsoft file.

As usual the software is very glitchy and slow...virtually unusable. Documentation is not up to date.

Can the actual logger be placed and operated at temperatures < -40 degrees Celsius or just the thermocouples can go upto these temperatures?
The OM-CP-OCTTEMP2000 operating temperature is -20 to 60°C (-4 to 140°F). The accuracy of the unit is based on this temp environment: ±0.5°C (0 to 50°C), ±0.9°F (32 to 122°F). It is best to use the proper thermocouple probe to measure -40 deg c
Thank you for your question.

I need to download temperature data to PC in pseudo-real-time (at least every hour). Does the software allow scripting so that this can be automatically?
Hello Troy
The software does allow you to record in real time off the screen of your computer, you can set the reading intervals as fast as one reading a second, to as slow as one every 12 hours.
For real time recording you will have to keep the logger connected to the computer via USB at all times.

Is the NIST Cert to ISO 17025?
Unfortunately, as of right now we cannot provide 17025 calibration, but we are working towards offering that in the future. Thank you for connecting with Omega.

We monitor temp in a 32' long oven (it have a conveyor, similar to pizza's ovens). Oven runs around 400F and lectures given were negative (not follow logic). I would like to be contacted via e-mail to share charts given by this same device.
Your question has been sent to Das Engineering Support for review and they will contact you once they review.

I am planning to use the data loggers to monitor freeze drying temperatures in a freeze drier from temperatures minus 405 degrees Celsius to positive 40 degrees Celsius. Can these data loggers be used for this application? Appreciate your help.
Thanks for your question. The lowest temperature we can reach is -260 DegC with Type K Thermocouple. If the application needs to go low around -405 DegC, this product may not able to meet the requirement.
