Description

Les résines époxydes OMEGABOND™ et silicones OMEGATHERM™ résistent à la chaleur et présentent une bonne conductivité thermique. Elles sont conçues pour réaliser l'adhésion permanente des sondes de température sur une gamme étendue de surfaces –métaux, céramiques, verre, plastiques, papiers et cartons.

OMEGABOND et OMEGATHERM sont livrées sont la forme de 2 composants et conditionnées afin de pouvoir les mélanger et les utiliser facilement. Chacune de ces colles possède les caractéristiques spécifiques nécessaires à des mesures de température précises, rapides et fiables. Elles se caractérisent par une bonne adhérence et une bonne résistance aux efforts, une large plage de température et une conductivité thermique élevée, un fort isolement électrique, une consistance thixotrope, un durcissement rapide et une grande facilité d’utilisation.

Le «Twin Pak» se présente sous la forme d’une pochette plastique transparente divisée en deux compartiments isolés par un séparateur externe. On place la résine dans l’un des compartiments et le durcisseur dans l’autre en quantités égales. Il suffit ensuite de retirer le séparateur pour mélanger les deux composants en malaxant la pochette, puis de couper un coin pour appliquer la colle. Chaque «Twin Pak» est livré avec une notice d’utilisation dans une enveloppe plastique transparente.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great Product - Difficult to Apply We have been using this product for several years to fasten temperature sensors to the back of solar panels. It works great for the application, but it's difficult and extremely messy to apply. Because we are typically working upside down and in cramped spaces, it's extremely difficult to get the product in place without having it drip or get all over your hands. A better applicator for the smaller packages would be really helpful.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just what I needed This is a very thick thixotropic material, heat the pouch under a heat lamp for a bit to make it easier to mix and gently squeeze to dispense just where you want it. It must be heated to cure, even 48 hours at room temperature and its still pliable. A few hours at cure temperature its solid and bonds well to metals plastics and FR4.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for thermal testing of equipment Used to test the thermal conductivity internally in electronics. Works like a charm. Very easy to mix up on a paper plate with a spoon and then I just dip my cable tips in the mixture and then apply to the equipment. Very simple. Does have an odor but stay a well ventilated room during mixing. I even wear gloves from the local auto parts store that are disposable.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Hold up to thermal cycling well! But..... I was looking for an amount to epoxy on 10-20 thermocouples but found this hard to proportion into seperate portions. Also the website refers to setting time to be a lot less than the paperwork says that came with the product. Overall I was able to still use the product and it has performed well

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Failed spectacularly Tried to use this to bond copper to ceramic. Worked for 2 days, then failed spectacularly at temperatures of 240 degrees C. The part failure ended up costing us days of lost time fixing the machine. Might have been due to mismatched thermal expansion coefficients causing stress in the adhesive. So either the epoxy failed due to stress, or due to temperature. Probably temperature. Who knows. I guess the lesson is: don't use epoxy at elevated temperatures. Just because it says it can do it, doesn't mean it can.

Is OMEGABOND 101 Two Part Epoxy good for potting electronics? How well does it handle thick layers and or voids between adhered surfaces? How thick/viscus is the epoxy as you work with it?

OMEGABOND®100—a fast (8 to 12 minute setting time), room temperature, two-part epoxy. Recommended for easy temporary and permanent bonding of beaded wire and “cement-on” thermocouples. Adheres to metals, ceramics, epoxy laminates, glass, wood, concrete and many other materials—for temperature measurements up to 129°C (265°F). It is not recommended for those endeavoring to achieve the ultimate in precision and speed of response, since this unfilled system has a relatively low thermal conductivity.Temporary installation of beaded wire thermocouples can be achieved by using a very small amount of OMEGABOND® 100 to tack the bead to the surface and packing OMEGATHERM® 201 around the exposed surface to improve heat transfer. This clear syrup consistency—100% solid adhesive — contains no solvents and has good strength and electrical insulation characteristics. Note: The working time after mixing the 2-part system at room temperature is only 6 to 8 minutes. OMEGABOND 100 is available in “Twin Pak” packs and 1- and 2-pound kits. For larger gaps, up to 1/4", review the OB-400 High Temperature Air Set Cement.

What is the shelf life and optimal storage conditions for OB-101-1/2 packs? The standard 101 manual says 70F and one-year shelf life if container remains sealed. Just looking for clarity for the art packs.

Can any of the omega bond thermal epoxies cure at room temperature?

Thank you for your inquiry Apz24. The OB-100 and OB-101 cure at room temperature. The OB-100 has a cure time of 8 to 12 minutes set at room temperature. The OB-200 has to cure at elevated temperatures. The OT-201 does not have a required cure time.

What is the average thermal conductivity value for the OB-100? I can not find it in the data sheets.

Thank you for your inquiry! There is no listed value for the OB-100 as it is the only OB product that is not designed to be thermally conductive. If improved thermal conductivity is desired the OB-100 should be paired with the OT-201

The upper rating is 392F for OT-201 and Omega does not recommend using it above that temperature. The characteristics can be altered and the material will no longer perform as specified.

Is OMEGABOND 201 Epoxy and OMEGATHERM 201 Silicone Paste safe for use in a vacuum? What about exposure to Oxygen?

The OmegaBond epoxy should be fine in a vacuum as long as it has been properly cured. The silicone paste OmegaTherm 201 however, does not harden and would not be the best choice to be used in a vacuum. What is the minimum temperature for this adhesive? I am looking for an adhesive to attach heaters to a surface that could experience temperatures down to -200C. Would the adhesive still work at these very cold temperatures?

Hi, I am using the epoxy OB-101. From you website, the mix ration by weight was 1:1(A:B); and from downloaded manual M0064, the mix ratio by weight was 1:1.8(A:B). Could you let me know which one was correct? If I used wrong mix ratio, what's the issue?
