Description

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Fittings don't fit The fittings that came with the flow meter did not actually fit. And they only sent one. We have been in contact with Omega for several weeks now trying to fix the issue and it has not been resolved.

Hello, I am considering buying some of FTB300 series water meters (the FTB314) - will the pulse from this water meter work with a state data logger (eg. HOBO State Data Logger)? Thanks!

Asked by: DrT13
Thank you for your inquiry about the flow meter. It has a frequency pulse output which is accepted by many instrumentation devices that accepts this signal. As for the data logger, you will neeed to verify the types of inputs.

The flowmeter stopped working after 4 months installed in a pressure manifold. The sensor had continuous power during the time, the failure was found on the infrared sensor once the flowmeter was replaced. What is the life expectancy of the sensor?

Asked by: Rvasques
Thanks for your question. The life expectancy of the flow meter depends on the each individual application. Customers have this flow meter after 3 years and still working while others fail after 4 months. Send us an email or call us with more details of your application.

Is there an wiring schematic for the flow meter itself, instead of just the strainer that's in the manual? I'd like to output the signal to another unit if that's possible.

Asked by: alexjlove
We can send a copy of the wire schematic for this flow meter, please send that request to flow@omega.com which would be much appreciated. Thank you.

I have 3 questions. - Is it possible to measure the flow in reverse direction? - How long is the period at which data is recorded? - What is the resolution of model number FTB311D? Thank you!

Asked by: khan25
Thank you for your inquiry. Please email flow@omega.com and our Flow Engineers will be able to provide any additional information you need.

Is the pulse output need to have power on the + side before the resistor or that wire is the return + signal? Can we put that 5V signal on a relay or we are better of with the alarm system

Asked by: bobby10
Thank you for your inquiry about the flow meter. Yes, it requires power from 5 to 30 VDC.

Does it display just the volume(gallon/litres) or can it display flow rate(gpm/lpm) as well?

Asked by: akasal
Thank you for your question? The FTB300 series Micro-Flow meters can display both volume and flow rate.

Is there any damage to the unit if exposed to flow rates higher than its flow reading capability?

Asked by: SA Engineer
Thank you for your inquiry! Exceeding the specified flow range can damage internal components by overspinning the paddle. In general slightly exceeding the maximum on occasions will not be an issue. Regularly exceeding the maximum flow rate by more than 10% may lead to excessive wear and deterioration of the meter.

I have three FTB300, one of them return me a 4Vdc from the sensor when there's no flow and I actually have a feedback on my PLC when there's flow. The two other 0V when there's no flow, and around 2V when there's a flow, and I don't have any feedback

Asked by: GCarrier
Thank you for your inquiry about the sensor. Please forward your statement to further assist trouble shooting the flow meter to the Flow Group at flow@omega.com
