The Omega cooling element is made from cast 316L stainless for maximum corrosion resistance and compatibility with process media. When used, in still air, cooling element can reduce a 300°C (570°F) liquid process temperature down to 25°C (77°F) at the active portion of the sensing element. This rugged machined bar stock construction allows the unit to operate to pressures of 100MPa (14,500 psi) at full temperature.

Hot oil monitoringThis was purchased to monitor pressures on a heat exchanger that runs at 450f degrees with the cooling adapter installed it worked great it data logged as it should to help diagnose a problem we were having with gasket failures. I would definitely purcase again.

Can this be used to cool a gas temperature or is it only for cooling liquids?

Thanks for connecting with Omega. The PG-CTN2-G02 is 316l Stainless Steel. You can use it with any media that is compatible with stainless steel, but please note that we do not have the heat dissipation curves for all media. The specification sheet simply states that cooling element can reduce a 300°C (570°F) liquid process temperature down to 25°C (77°F) at the active portion of the sensing element.
