THERMOCOUPLE CONNECTIONS
Simulating or reading thermocouples requires the use of thermocouple or extension grade thermocouple wire. Plug thermocouple wires into the miniature thermocouple jack or place bare thermocouple wires onto the brass block under the screws.

The CL543B has two banana jacks (1+ and 2-) mounted in the top end of the housing. These are not temperature compensated and are to be used only for millivolt signals.

RTD CONNECTIONS
Simulating or reading RTDs uses copper wire. Plug 2-, 3- or 4-wires into the corresponding jacks on the calibrator. For RTD source the CL543B simulates the (+) RTD from jacks 1 and 4 and the (-) RTD from jacks 2 and 3. When reading an RTD sensor the CL543B uses patented circuitry to automatically detects if 2-, 3- or 4-wires are connected. This is helpful to troubleshoot sensor connections.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works! This device is a resource used by many within our company. It has worked properly when used. Our company monitors the large reciprocating compressors in different Plants around the US and Canada. We lost one we had previously so buying a new one shows it has been a great tool.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Themocouple calibrator I bought this calibrator earlier this summer. It is easy to use. You easily go between the read and simulation functions. I use it a lot for troubleshooting temperature issues on various pieces of equipment.

Does the CJC accuracy affect the uncertainty calculations above the stated accuracy of 0.2 C? Or is the CJC accuracy part of that "accuracy" value? Could you provide the "Type B" Uncertainty for this meter?

Asked by: Erik
Hi Erik Thank you for the inquiry. CJC accuracy is in addition to thermocouple accuracy. Need to add the two for total measure or simulate accuracy. Type B accuracy is listed in manual. Sorry cannot calculate the uncertainty for you. Best regards OMEGA
