Product Specs

The OMEGA™ CL3512A handheld calibrator is two meters in one at an attractive low price. The CL3512A is a temperature calibrator, or thermocouple calibrator, that simulates type J/K/T/E thermocouple signals. Each signal is adjustable by using the coarse and fine dials. The CL3512A can also be used as a dual type J/K/T/E input thermocouple thermometer. Features include a large 3 1/2 digit display with backlighting and display selections of HOLD, °C/°F, and 0.1°/1°.

Calibration Range: Same as measurement range Auto Range: 0.1° to 1° resolution above 199.9 (°C or °F)
Measurement Accuracy: Accuracy is specified for operating temperatures over the range of 18 to 28°C (64 to 82°F), for 1 year, not including thermocouple error. ±(0.1%rdg + 1°C) range -60 to 1372°C ±(0.1%rdg + 2°C) range -60 to -220°C ±(0.1%rdg + 2°F) range -76 to 1999°F ±(0.1%rdg + 4°F) range -76 to -364°F

Can either T1 or T2 be used as an output for simulating a thermocouple to calibrate a device?

Only T1 is used for sourcing Thermocouple signals on the CL3512A calibrator.

Could this be used to calibrate a TJ96-IC310SS-116U-4-SB (WNW0204216) Thermocouple that I purchased from you recently. I did not have the thermocouple calibrated, but I am realizing that to match our our probe readings it is necessary?

Hi NickB, Thank you for the inquiry. To compare the 2 probes you need a good accurate meter to measure the probe output signal. The CL3512A can do this. You also need a stable bath to hold the probes at constant temperature. A container of ice can provide 0 C point. Is a thermocouple included? If so, will it be able to measure temperatures down to -100 Celsius or will I need to by a more specialized probe?

Thank you for your inquiry. Unfortunately this device comes with a thermocouple that cannot measure -100°C. We do not state an accuracy for SLE Wire-Made Products below 0°C (32°F). Accuracy testing shows it is no longer linear. If you want an accuracy for a SLE Product we suggest that you get a CAL-4 Calibration at an additional cost for temperatures below 0°C.

Is that chargeable battery? or should be connected all the time?

This unit takes one standard 9-volt battery. It does not accept a charger to charge the battery while in the unit.
