*For our newest line of controllers with Modbus connectivity, expanded ramp and soak programs, universal inputs, and simple PC programming, visit our CNPT Series.*
The OMEGA™ CNi8 is a 1/8 DIN size[96 x 48 mm (3.7 x 1.9")] digitalpanel meter featuring the bigiSeries color-changing display. Thedigits are twice the size of typical1/8 DIN panel meters. The iSeriesmeters feature the only LEDdisplays that can be programmedto change color between GREEN, AMBER, or RED at any setpointor alarm point. The "CNi8" model isavailable as an extremely accurateprogrammable digital panel meterwith no outputs or with dual outputsfor controlling or alarming functions.Other options include isolatedprogrammable analog output, serialcommunications, andEthernet. If Modbus is required, we recommend our latest Platinum controllers - CNPT Series. The user can easilyprogram the CNi8 for any control oralarming requirement from simpleon/off to full autotune PID with achoice of form C SPDT relays, solidstate relays, DC pulse, and analog(voltage and current) outputs.
Fully isolated analog output forretransmission of the process valueis available in addition to the controland alarm relays (specify modelCNi8A33).
The CNi8 covers a broadselection of transducer andtransmitter inputs with 2 inputmodels.
The universal temperature andprocess instrument (CNi models)handles 10 common types ofthermocouples, multiple RTDs, andseveral process (DC) voltage andcurrent ranges. This model alsofeatures built-in excitation, 24 Vdc@ 25 mA. With its wide choice ofsignal inputs, this model is an excellentchoice for measuring or controllingtemperature with a thermocouple,RTD, or 4 to 20 mA transmitter.
The strain and process instruments(CNiS models) measure inputs fromload cells, pressure transducers, and most any strain gage sensoras well as process voltage and current ranges. The CNiS has built-in5 or 10 Vdc excitation for bridgetransducers, 5 Vdc @ 40 mA or10 Vdc @ 60 mA (any excitationvoltage between 5 and 24 Vdc isavailable by special order). ThisCNiS model supports 4- and 6-wirebridge configurations, ratiometricand non-ratiometric measurements.
The CNiS features fast and easy"in process" calibration/scaling ofthe signal inputs to any engineeringunits. This model also features10-point linearization which allowsthe user to linearize the signalinput from extremely nonlineartransducers of all kinds.
