The LVSW-710/720 compact solid state liquid level switch is a great replacement for mechanical float-type liquid level devices. The switch employs proven ultrasonic technology and solid state integral electronics in a small package. The LVSW-710/720 provides reliable operation in virtually any liquid, regardless of viscosity. This eliminates problems of stickiness and failure rate due to finite mechanical life inherent in the mechanical float design. The combination of fully epoxy-sealed electronics and ultrasonic sensing technology will provide years of maintenance-free service

Missing document infoI couldn't find any documentation that describes the cable/wire information (gauge, insulation/jacket type, etc), so I wrote this review to provide that:
The cable that was attached to mine is a Belden 9535, and Belden provides a nice spec sheet on their website.

Great Sensor - Would Like to See Future VariationsSensor operating voltage is versatile
(5-30VDC). My application uses 6VDC.
Sensor is compact enough to make it work in tight areas. It is 1/2” NPT and 3” long.
I would love to see the following variations in the future:
1) Make the wiring via a connector instead of cable coming out connector. This will allow easy removal.
2) If point 1 is not possible, make the cable longer, maybe 6-ft.
3) Make another sensor with longer length; may be 2-in longer. This will allow the shorter one to be used for level control, while the longer used for low level alarm.
What is the difference between the LVSW-710 and 720?

Thank you for your inquiry. The LVSW-710 and LVSW-720 have different dimensions. The pdf data sheet above has the full dimensional drawing.

Can I mount the LVSW horizontally and still get accurate sensing?
Asked by: Finn
Yes The manual recommends horizontal installation

Can the LVSW-710/720 sensors be submerged in water - to a depth of about 20ft? I'm considering using a short array of them to measure liquid level movement - the deeper ones would be always submerged and as the test proceeds the level will rise.

Thank you for your inquiry for the level switch. Unfortunately, it cannot be submersed since the cable shown is not water proof, only potted.
