Description

The new DP400S Strain Meter is designed as a display for load cells and pressure sensors and includes an isolated power supply for the strain-gauge. The conversion frequency programmable up to 1.2 KHz and the resolution of up to 24bit ensure high levels of accuracy. Various calibration modes can be selected for the analog input (sample weight, percentage value on scale base, mV/V value).

DP400S Strain Meter Overview
A dedicated programming tool is the Omega Branded Free Download Google Play App - "Direct Link" relying on RFID/NFC connectivity and allowing straightforward programming without wiring by Android devices. You can also find the latest version of App from our software link.

Programming tool's key functions include multiple options for calibration management, Totalizer and Sum functions, graphic visualization of process trend with programmable time basis or bar - graphs with alarm/event thresholds.

An auto-configuration mode has also been implemented for selected Dynisco melt pressure sensors, simplifying the initial set-up for the user. Connectivity is guaranteed by RS485 with Modbus RTU/Slave protocol.

For maximum flexibility of use, it is also possible to choose between horizontal or vertical installation.

The distinctive feature of the entire DP400 series is the innovative multilingual interface, with text menus allowing intuitive and quick navigation of parameters and visualization pages.

It is possible to choose among different languages and the comprehensive menu considerably reduces the need to consult the technical manual for initial set-up.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Nice idea, poor execution Graphing feature works great. Changing alarm values is easy, once you conquer the Italian translated manual. Unit is password protected, but password can't be changed from 12345. The NFC feature is great but can't be password protected. 4-20mA system is a fail. 4-20mA just doesn't work. Omega support is no response, no help.

1) How do you change the default password? 2) Please explain in detail using the USB to configure the meter. The "Italian-English" is not clear and/or doesn't work.

Asked by: Van12345
@Van12345 You may not be able to change the default password from 1234. The USB functionality is to use a pre loaded USB stick to enter factory set parameters. If you are using this meter with a load cell and are trying to scale the load cell it would be easier to program the meter using the front panel. Kindly reach us at 1800 622 2378 for tech support. Thank you.

Can I use one unit to test multiple strain gauges? For example, place 5 strain gauges in various locations of interest on equipment, apply and hold load to equipment, then use one device to measure the strain at the various locations.

Asked by: Dave12345
Dave, you will need 5 separate BCM-1 units to complete your bridge unless you are completing your own bridge. This unit is a single channel device so you will need 5 of these meters for 5 separate points. We have multi channel devices like the INET555 that can do multi channel strain gauge bridge readings

Am using 3 strain gauges that has an excitation voltage of 10 VDC nominal. I see that this only produces 5 VDC will it still be able to function correctly? The strain gauge recommended voltage is from 5 to 12 VDC.

Asked by: Jayjay01
Yes. A strain gage gage sensor that has a nominal excitation spec of 10VDC will work OK with this display.
