The PLM-Series polyimide flexible heaters are offered in a variety of sizes and watt densities. These flexible heaters are polyimide insulated with a polyimide strain relief designed to be used in various environments and hard to reach places. They feature a non-magnetic heating element and watt densities of 2.5 W/in2, 5 W/in2 or 10 W/in2.

PLM-Series heaters have a thickness of 0.01 for a low profile wherever they are installed. Self-adhesive options available for easy and simple installation and eliminate the need for clamping. Temperature ranges from -40°C (-40°F) to 149°C (300°F) for self-adhesive models and -57°C (-71°F) to 232°C (450°F) for no adhesive models.

The PLM-Series heaters are made of polyimide for increased flexibility for curved surfaces and chemical resistivity. The thin nature of these heaters makes them ideal for tight spaces and good for applications such as hot plates, airplanes, storage tanks, beakers, trays, drying chambers and more.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Hard to find easy to order. Tough to find product very limited options apart from Omega. Long order lead time came in earlier.

Can I use this with rolling itself (overlapped it self) ?

Asked by: taeng
Thank you for your inquiry. 'Hotspots' caused by opposing heat transfers when a heater is overlapped with itself will cause it to fail.

Can you tell me the type of metal (copper, other allow) that is used for the heater traces inside? Thank you.

Asked by: Inflipant
Hi Inflipant, Thank you for the inquiry. Please forward this request to TEMP@OMEGA.COM Best regards OMEGA

The operation voltage is 28V DC, what is the operating current?

Asked by: redneck123
Hi Redneck123 Thank you for the inquiry. To calculate current we have a couple steps; Need the total watts of your heater. Heaters are normally rated in watts/ sqin and voltage. To calculate total power. Calculate the area of your heater and multiply the area x watts/sqin. Next use power law to calculate the current. Power = Voltage x Current From this; Current = Power / voltage Hope this is helpful. Best regards OMEGA

What is the tolerance on heater resistance? Thanks

Asked by: Bob bbbbb
The Resistance tolerance for the PLMLV series Heaters is nominally +/- 10%.

Is the plm series able to handle outgassing?

Asked by: why1
Omega does not specify the outgassing on these Heaters though Polyimide has very low levels. The PLM series is generally used in atmosphere applications.

Can 28V DC PLM series heater work fine at 12v DC? at 12 v it can drain more current as compared to 28v, As P=VI.

Asked by: Moon
Hi Moon, Thank you for the inquiry. The PLM can operate on 12 VDC. But the power rule is also P=V(squared)/ Resistance. If the voltage was cut in half the P value would be a square of the difference ( 1/4) Best regards OMEGA

Is it compatible with 24VDC power input? Can I run it with 24VDC?

Asked by: Mehran
Thank you for your inquiry. You may use a lower rated voltage but be aware that you will not reach the maximum total wattage rated at 28V.
