Inexpensive monitoring
Purchased the thermocouples with 120 inch cable to monitor bearing temperatures on inaccessible vacuum pumps. For $20 each it is an extremely cost effective way to monitor these devices.

Small J Type Thermocouple
I was looking for a very small, J type thermocouple that would fit flat against a glass surface without an air gap. This self adhesive thermocouple, model SA1-J-72 met all of my needs and I was very relieved that it has 72" leads which is a big plus.

Sticky as Maple Syrup.
When the surface is cleaned and prepped properly, these will stick to just about anything. Be careful contaminating them with your finger tips -- usually can only get one good use out of them before they lose their tackiness which is to be expected.

Review of Surface Thermocouples
Nice quality device. Each TC was individually wrapped. The connector end has a professional looking strain relief on it. The only thing that might be an issue (and it could be either a positive or a negative), is the connector itself is sealed. On the one hand, users can't get into it and mess up the connections. On the other hand, if something does go wrong with the connections inside the connector, it isn't easily repairable and may not be repairable at all requiring the replacement of the device.

Are these thermocouples suitable for an outdoor application? Specifically installation on the back of a solar panel for extended periods of time (> 6 months).
Yes, I have used these for that exact application with some Kapton tape on the TC and they work well.

Can I use this Thermocouple and connector with the wireless unit SS-002-0-NA?
Thank you for your question. You have to purchase the model thermocouple with stripped leads because SS-002-0-NA has screw terminals for wire connection.

Can this thermocouple be installed in a cylindrical metal surface? Cylinder diameter range 6-in to 12-in
Yes this Thermocouple can be installed on a cylinder and most curved surfaces.

I had one peel off of a metal surface, can an adhesive be applied to re-attach it? If so, which one?
Thank you for your inquiry Moosa. You could use the OB-200 epoxy as an adhesive up to a maximum temperature of 175 C. Using the epoxy will be a permanent fix. You can also use any general purpose adhesive to reattach the sensor as long as it doesn't exceed the maximum temperature of 175 C.
