Omega's RTD-831 series 3-wire RTD sensor features an improved barrel and flag design on the aluminum housing which gives improved durability. The flag is machined to accept a #3, #4, #5, #6, #8 screw for easy installation on flat surfaces by either being bolted or cemented onto the surface. This is available in 100 Ω or 1000 Ω Platinum RTD element and is available in a high temperature (-HT) version. Connection options available are miniature 3-pin connector (-MTP), standard 3-pin connector (-OTP), stripped ends (-SE), and spade lugs (-LUG). For other connector types, please contact Sales. Applications for this type of sensor include product performance testing climate control/HVAC monitoring and control of processes hot plate equipment, and process pipes.

The picture of this part and the drawing do not match. They are mirror images of each other. Can post pictures of the actual product? With the cable pointing to the left, I would like to know if the mounting hole is above or below the cylinder. Thanks

Does this sensor is certified CSA or UL ?

Unfortunately, the RTD-831 series is not CSA or UL rated. Omega does not sell any temperature sensor that is CSA or UL rated

What holds the element inside the aluminum flag? Is the element fully encapsulated with black epoxy material?

Yes the cable is fiberglass insulation allowing exposure to 450C as well.

Can RTD-831 series be used in Vacuum chamber like RTD-830 series? Thanks.

Hi Anonymous, If used in vacuum there may be some outgassing from the epoxy used in construction; so we have no vacuum recommendation for this product; You would need to purchase and evaluate to see if would be acceptable. This has the same construction as the RTD-830. The new washer shape provides for stronger lead wire connection. Best regards OMEGA
