Nice Product
I purchased a package of 5 thermocouples. They arrived well packaged and, for someone who doesn't work w/thermocouples, the workmanship and insulation were very nice. I would definitely purchase this product from Omega again.

Excellent TC's
Excellent thermocouples, durable and directly integrate-able into all of our multiplexer systems. The connectors (separate purchase) make quick work of the bare wire for our handheld probes. Easy.

PFA Insulated Thermocouples
I was very happy to order these thermocouples to be delivered through the next couple of months and not have to worry about reordering every month. They are very easy to unwrap
and work with. This product has been a reorder of ours for a lot of years. Continuity always good. Also able to order this as a RoHs compliant product.

What is the diameter of the thermocouple 5TC-TT-J-40-36? Can it be used at temperatures up to 500 °C? At what temperature does the insulation start to melt for this thermocouple?
Thank you for your inquiry Moe1. The size of the cross section of 5TC-TT-J-40-36 is 0.4 x 0.7 mm (0.017" x 0.026"). You cannot use 5TC-TT-J-40-36 at temperatures up to 500 °C since it is only rated for temperatures up to 260 C and will start to melt if used in temperatures over 260 C.

What is the percentage uncertainty for 5TC-TT-KI-40-1M? I am working in a temperature range of 15-60 degrees, is the uncertainty 0.4%, so 0.06-0.24 C?
Thank you for the inquiry. We do not provide uncertainty numbers for this series. Accuracy spec follows ANSI special limits of error; +/- 0.4% of reading or 1.1 C whichever is greater.
Best regards

Are you able to cut the lead half of the wires on these? i don't want to trim them and cause a short.
Thank you for your inquiry. You can cut the leads as much as you need to.
Date published: 2020-05-19
What's the maximum Temp rating that this 5TC-TT-J-24-72 can be subjected to as to not melt the insulation?
Thank you for the inquiry. Max service temperature for the insulation is 500 F.

Hi, for this kind of thermocouple wires that they have just a little part appeared, can i immerge them in liquid and solid phases of a solution or just liquid phase. If not, could you please suggest this kind of thermocouples for both phases? thanks
Thank you for your inquiry mouna1992. These thermocouple wires are great for solid phases but not great for liquid phases. We recommend getting an immersion probe or hermetically sealed thermocouple which would allow you to immerse the probe into the liquid state and still allow to take a measurement in the solid state.
