Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent quality butt-welded thermocouples These thermocouples are very well made and very well packaged. So far I've used about 20 of the 40AWG K-type variant and the consistency is very good. My only issue with using these has been determining the exact location of the weld, since the wire is so fine and the bulge where the junction is welded is so minimal (this is probably less of a problem with larger wire). They do coat the wire with a red varnish where the junction is, but the coated length is 1-2 cm long, so it's easy to find roughly where the junction is, but I needed to locate the junction within 1mm. It was still possible, just difficult. I don't think this is a fault in the product, its just the nature of working with such fine thermocouples.
