The Handheld RDXL4SD and RDXL12SD models are portable thermometer/data loggers with backlight display and built-in analysis functions. The data loggers are powered by an internal battery and are capable of sampling, processing and displaying measurements without being connected to a computer.
With their high resolution and fast analog to digital converter (ADC), the RDXL4SD and RDXL12SD meet the majority of data logging requirements in most industrial applications.
Real-time SD memory card data logger, built-in clock and calendar, real time data recorder, and sampling time set from 1 to 3600 seconds comes standard. Data logger can log data manually by setting the sampling time to zero.
These real-time data loggers, save the 4- or 12-channels temperature measuring data, along with the time information (year, month, date, minute, second) into the SD memory card and can down load to Excel. The end user can make any data or graphic analysis by themselves.

Great Data logger
Got two of these for temperature profiling of our freezers, very convenient to set up and use these.
This model did not have an AC adapter - which could be handy especially for long term data recording (or redundancy) to prevent data loss due to battery draining out.
Otherwise, this is a great unit for portability and convenience.

Very versatile temp data logger
Very versatile temp data logger that can handle different types of thermocouple. Can sample at various times and log onto an SD card and easily be viewed in a spreadsheet.

Indispensible to our work.

Where can I get a 9V power supply for this unit? I got the unit hot and now the battery compartment is warped.
The AC Adapter for the RDXL4SD is the ADAPTER-SD and is sold as an accessory.

I need thermocouples that can be exposed to direct flame. Which ones would be compatible to this device?
Thank you for your inquiry! You can use bare thermocouple wire rated for the appropriate temperature range to directly measure the temperature of a flame. However, if you plan to measure for an extended duration of time, it would be best to select a thermocouple probe for durability and repeatability of your measurements. Lastly, the thermocouple you choose should have a mini connector to connect into this data logger.

Will the data still be logged after starting the REC and then powering off the unit? Or does the display need to stay on for the logging to occur?
The Logger should be left on when in record mode. When in record mode the meter enters into a low power consumption operation until recording is terminated.

When recording data does the auto off feature need to be (no) or can it be left in auto off (yes)?
Once in record mode the logger will not turn off until it has the recording ended. So it would ignore the APO setting.

Do I need and if yes, how do I start data output on RS232? (I have the unit connected via USB adapter (UPCB-01?) to computer, but cannot see any activity on a terminal software.)
