Low profile load cells are basically compression and tension/compression load cells. Mounting holes and female threads provide easy installation. Used frequently in weighing research and in-line force monitoring.
The LCHD is also available in metric configurations, with ranges from 0-2.5 to 0-10,000 kgf and metric threads. Please see the LCMHD for complete details, or contact our Pressure department for more information.

What is the ingress protection rating on these cells? I need IP67 or better.
Thank you for your inquiry, we don’t have an IP rating for this model, if you’re in need of a sensor that meets the IP67 specifications please see our model LSHD.

In the load button scenario, imagine I bolted a plate on top of the load cell and used the threads in the center of LC. In this case, the result would be different if the force were applied at the center of the plate versus 20 mm away from the center.
Off-center loading will effect the reading of the load cell
Date published: 2024-06-21
Is there any way to calculate the effect? I mean, if I am off by about +/- 7 mm from the center, how can I find the correct load? Is there a graph available to see the relationship between the off-center load and the load reading?
There is not formula to exact how much error in the reading you would see for a given offset.

Are your LCHD load cells calibrated and do they come with certs?
Hello, our load cells are calibrated and they will come with a 5 point NIST traceable cal cert.

Can I operate the load cell in a vacuum?
Hi, you cannot use the LCHD series load cells in vacuum due to out-gassing issues. We nonetheless, can customize the load cell by drilling a hole through the body till the region where strain gauges are adhered and vacuum the air inside the load cell. You must then be able to use it. This will be a custom part. If you would like please provide the load range and email our Tech Support engineer back for a quote. Thanks.

What is the difference between operating temperature and compensated temperature? I'm looking to use this load cell outdoors and on a cold morning it might be below 60F. Do I need to pay for the extended temperature range?
The operating temperature range of a load cell is the temperature range within which the load cell can operate and produce accurate and reliable measurements. Operating temperature is a critical parameter because it affects the load cell's internal components. The compensated temperature of a load cell is the range of temperatures in which the load cell can provide accurate readings after compensating for the temperature effect. This compensation process involves adjusting the output of the load cell to account for the changes in temperature. The typical effect of operating the load cell outside it's compensated temperature is a shift in output value. The load cell output will remain within its rated accuracy specifications (linearity, repeatability & hysteresis) between zero and span.

What is the smallest LCHD that is available with the -5T option? (+/- 5V output integral amplifier)
Hello,
We can build all models with the amplified option. The least would 25 pounds.
Thank you

The result would differ if the force were applied exactly at the center versus 15 mm away from the center.
The loading point of the LCHD load cells is the threads in the center hole. Load must be applied by the use of either a load button (compression loading) or a rod end (tension loading).
